Non-invasive. Deeply relaxing. Transformational.
What happens acoustically when sound is introduced into the body? When a note is sounded on a tuning fork
and touched to a point on the body, sound waves detach from the source and disperse in all directions. Because liquids and solids are denser than air, sound travels nearly five times faster in the body and with more clarity, volume, and energy. Sound propagating through and acting on the body causes our molecules to vibrate in synchronicity with sound and stimulates the body's healing response.
Depending on the mass and water content of the body’s various structures, sound will be absorbed, will reflect, refract, or phase-shift. Our bodies are living resonators. The adult male human body is of approximately 60% water, and water acts as the messenger-medium among all of our cells. Since all physiological processes, disease, growth and development can be described at the cellular level, Vibrational Sound Healing has the potential to realign the body’s energy at the source; resonating and reinforcing, releasing blockages and nurturing; restoring the body to harmonious functioning one cell at a time.

Vibrational Sound Healing and Stress.
Interestingly, Vibrational Sound Healing may help preserve the integrity of our DNA and effect positive change in numerous stress-related disorders. Scientists known as epigeneticists have discovered that environmental factors, even life experiences, cause alterations in gene activity in a DNA sequence. Some of the most damaging changes are caused by stress. As we all well know, there are many causes of stress and there are many serious physical consequences of experiencing too much stress. For example, poverty, poor parenting practices, and family instability have a genetic impact that shortens the telomeres of children. Damage to telomeres, the end-caps on chromosomes, is linked to aging and vulnerability to illness. A recent study has shown that “Children living in the most stressful environments had telomeres that were on average 40 percent shorter than those of the children studied who were living in the most nurturing settings.”1 For the well-being of both children and adults, stress management is essential.
The physical and emotional toll that stress takes on the body results from the production of a complex of damaging chemicals that create negative feedback interactions between the hypothalamus, the pituitary gland, and the adrenal glands, called the HPA axis. “The HPA axis is involved in the neurobiology of mood disorders and functional illnesses, including anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, insomnia, post-traumatic stress disorder, borderline personality disorder, ADHD, major depressive disorder, burnout, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, and alcoholism.”2 Acutonics demonstrates again and again how treatment of the HPA axis with soothing, sedating intervals interrupts the stress response and restores the body's equilibrium. Regular treatment of the HPA axis with Vibrational Sound Healing may mitigate damage to our genes and requires further study.
